As an athlete, my mindset is so crucial in maintaining my focus. It helps me to reduce any limiting beliefs that come up and helps keep me motivated to reach any goal I set.

Reaching and maintaining healthy weight loss goals can often be a difficult task to accomplish alone, which is why having an accountability coach or counsellor can make all the difference. Does any of this self-talk sound familiar??

  • I’m ugly, fat, worthless, different from everyone else, useless, and too unfit to exercise.

This negative self-talk is learnt behaviour. Trash-talk yourself often enough, and you start to believe it. Hear it from a family member, friend or partner, and you believe it. You can hear thousands of positive comments daily, but the one insult is what you keep playing over and over in your mind.

And you can change it!!

When toddlers learn to walk, they will stand and fall one thousand times as they learn and create the neuron pathways to this new habit. Not once will the child tell itself that they are useless and can’t do it. They simply can’t understand that it can’t be done. So they continue to stand and fall, stand and fall until finally they master standing on their own.
